Dr. Denbow’s current research interests include the study of transporters from the multidrug resistance associated (MRP) family of ABC transporters, use of medicinal plants as alternative sources of antibiotics in animal feeds, and production of human proteins such as cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator protein (CFTR) in transgenic plants.
She received her Ph.D. in Plant Physiology in 1997 from Virginia Tech. She received her M.S. in Animal Physiology in 1980 and her B.S. in Zoology and Poultry Science in 1977 from North Carolina State University.
